Easter 2012

New York City

I just had the amazing opportunity to travel to New York with my mom to sing in a choir that was performing in the world premier of Brad Ellingboe's "Star Song".  I was a student of Ellingboe's at UNM and felt so blessed to be a part of such beautiful music with a 200 person choir and a full orchestra.  I don't have the words to describe the feeling of being on stage at the Lincoln Center surrounded by the beauty of music, hearing and seeing the genius and creativity that came from one man's mind and soul.  It was a spiritual experience for me and my emotions kept me from singing on several occasions. 

This is a terrible picture of the Lincoln Center but I wanted to remember where I've been. :)

Ground Zero was a solemn experience.  They've made this area beautiful in remembrance of the tragedy that happened here.  I stopped and listened to a man's personal experience of being a fire fighter on 9/11 and his descriptions of fear and panic and sorrow when he learned that he was the only survivor in his group of fire fighters.  I can't even imagine what these people went through.
