Funny Experience

I had a funny experience a couple nights ago. I've neglected my scripture reading for a long time, I'm not going to tell you how long because it's embarrassing, but I've made a new goal for myself to read every night before bed. I want to be a good example to my Young Women and how can I tell them to pray and read their scriptures if I'm not doing it myself? Anyway, this particular night I was so tired and seriously grouchy. As Tom was in the line of fire I was taking it out on him and not being a very sweet wife. As I sat in bed I decided that I would read a few verses but didn't want to start a new chapter in the Book of Mormon, so I just opened my scriptures to D&C 25. This is one of my favorite sections because it's given to Emma Smith in regards to the trials that she's facing and it talks about music. This is the verse my eyes fell on first...

14 Continue in the spirit of meekness, and beware of pride. Let thy soul delight in thy husband, and the glory which shall come upon him.

If you've seen the death look that I can send out to certain unfortunate souls, hopefully you've never been one, then you know what look I sent Tom after reading this verse. As he sat there with a completely bewildered and innocent look on his face I just bust up laughing. What are the chances that I'd read that verse right then? I guess it was something I desperately needed to hear.

Roommate Reuion

These are my roommates from my freshman year of college at BYU Idaho! I was so very blessed to be put in an apartment w/ five other girls that I grew to love w/ all my heart. We truly missed our Ashley, she's the sixth that couldn't make it this year because of work and school. We all met in Idaho this year at Jill's cute house. How sad that this is the only picture that I got of all of us together! That's not Jill's house in the background, just FYI. We were trying to show how windy it was but of course the wind died as soon as we went out to take the picture!

It's fun to see how all our lives have changed. This is Jill's baby Easton. He's such a sweet little guy and Jill is such a wonderful mother. Her new family is the light of her life.

Here's Jessica, Lacey, Andrea and Jill. I absolutely LOVE these girls!

This little angel is Lacey's daughter Natalie. She is the cutest little thing w/ big blue eyes. At our last reunion Lacey was seven months pregnant w/ Natalie, so it was so fun to finally meet her.

Jess and Andrea have been best buds forever.

I LOVE Jill in this picture! She's going to kill me for putting this on here but I couldn't resist.

This girl is amazing! She has the most extraordinary story I've ever heard. The Lord has tested her beyond what I would've been able to handle and she just glows with faith that the Lord has a plan for her and her family.
On their way home from celebrating their 1 year wedding anniversary Jessica and her husband were in a terrible car accident. They have a story of tragedy, hope, healing and love. The faith that they both have carried through the past four years truly amazes and humbles me. On our way home from our reunion Matt said the most amazing thing. He said that he doesn't regret what happened to him because then he wouldn't know what he knows now. And after having such a life changing experience he can now have empathy for others who have major trials in life. I can't remember exactly how he said it, but that's the gist of it. To see more of their story and family their blog is Matt, Jessica and Kaden Wood.

Shindig 2009

Taylor is getting so dang handsome! I loved seeing him on stage and he was definitely in his element up there!
Taylor was definitely the "STAR" of the show for me. He sang "The Prayer" with his classmate Dalton. They did an amazing job and I couldn't stop the tears from flowin'! The pictures are fuzzy but I think they still have a cool effect.

Taylor in his Jail-House Rock shirt.
If you've never been to PV Highschool's Shindig you're missing out! It's always full of fun and talent. I don't know how my mom and Virginia pull if off every year, but somehow it all comes together to be completely entertaining!
I think this picture is way cool with the lighting on Ryan's drums.

Yeah for my brothers! They both did awesome and my mom was in heaven making music with two of her boys. The others were definitely missed!

Celebrating Ryan's Visit

I love this pic of my mom!
My mom took us all out to a nice dinner while Ryan was in town. Only my mom's sons can talk her into splurging on Red Lobster! Yum!
