Beautiful wedding and Family

We got to go to my cousin Kelli's wedding on July 11, 2014.  It was so wonderful to see her married in the temple to the man she loves.  It was also so much fun to see my extended family.

Beautiful sisters.

I love this picture of the Ferres with all their happy faces.

Three generations.

The reception was held at a plant nursery which was beautiful.  We got to walk around and enjoy all the trees and throw rocks into the pond.

Spritual Experience...

I had a pretty incredible experience a few weeks ago that I don't want to forget, and since this is my only journal at the moment I thought I'd write it here.  After my Uncle Myron's funeral a bunch of us family members were hanging out and eating dinner at Myron and Revis's house.  Their house is NOT child-proof so with two 3 year olds and a couple of 12 year olds playing and wrestling and chasing each other the adults kept moving more and more glass, tables and breakables out of the way.  However, the fireplace stone hearth could not be moved so I sat near there to try to avoid any disasters.  After a while I stopped paying really close attention and started a conversation with my cousin who was sitting off to my left (the action of the kids was to my right).  As I was catching up with Darrin I had this feeling come over me that's difficult to describe but everything went quiet and as I was looking at Darrin on my left my right hand reached out, seemingly on its own, and caught Jacob's head just before it bashed into the hearth.  This happened so quickly and as I said I wasn't even paying attention to what the kids were doing so I couldn't have even had time to turn my head and process what was about to happen before Jacob would have been seriously injured.  It felt as if someone else took control of my body for that moment and saved us from what could have been a serious injury.  Some might call this a mother's intuition but I know that I was blessed with the Spirit of the Holy Ghost at that moment and it saved my son's sweet head.  Everything continued on around us...Jacob jumped back up and ran back into the chaos, everyone's conversations went on as if nothing happened and Darrin said, "Wow, good catch!" But for me this was a moment of being completely enveloped in the Spirit.  I'm so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the Spirit of the Holy Ghost that I was given after being baptized and by the Priesthood.

Here are some pictures that give a hint of Jacob's funny personality.

4th of July with Wonderful Family

First of all, this big fella showed up on our front porch.  These pictures don't do too much justice but he was the biggest moth I have ever seen.

My beautiful 4th of July dessert.  I got this recipe from a friend of ours, Shira, a few years ago and it has never ceased to be a hit.  It has angel food cake in the middle of all that goodness.

We had a lot of family come by to watch the Bolack's (sp?) fireworks from our backyard.  Everyone brought amazing food to share and it turned out to be a blast.  Love these people!

From left to right...Betsy, Shirley, Joel, Danette, Robyn, Tom, Jacob, Revis, Cody and Dean.

Tom snapped a pic so I could be in there too.  :)

And then Jake, Ryan, Terri and Martin, oh and Zoe (the dog) watched from our back porch.
